How do i try to bring this back to Menards? Bring the charred carcess and box back to Menards show them the reciept, show them the video and watch the store manager authorize a refund quicker than you can say i want my money back.

Checked mine when it started to work intermitrantly, the compressor inside was hotterthan hell. Way past the point where the protector should have cut it out. Seems to be a loss of coolant plus a bad thermoprotector that causes the problem. Will do an autopsy/failure analysis video once the recall is finalized. Apperently they want the tags and the cord returned.

SoleusAir didn't manufacture this unit, it's a rebadged Haier, same with their air conditioners, this is why you buy name brand whenever you can

This unit likely has propane as refrigerant and that is the reason for the explosion at the end. Many modern refrigeration appliances use flammable refrigerant as it’s “safer” for the environment

For anyone wondering what the explosion was, it was the refrigerant escaping due to very high pressure in the copper tubing (due to heat from the fire). The electronics in these chinesium disposable pieces of JUNK catch fire. Planned obsolescence. Don't throw out your american made tanks and buy new (actually not more efficient..) CRAP.
